The WTF has not re-imbursed BOCS for the YTH meals. |
Old Business: |
There are still a few Fish Fry flyers available for putting up at businesses. |
Still need a cook for the fish fry, and another deep fryer, Bill Hughes has one that can be used. Helpers are to be at Bldg 125 at 10:00am |
Dan H will check on getting a van for the tours. |
BONWR will notify the newspapers of the fish fry. |
Refuge Manager's report: |
The Refuge has burned about 400 acres during their controlled burns. Everything has worked out good. |
| BONWR has a new brochure published and BOCS has a blurb in it. |
| Joe introduced 2 new interns. |
| Kim Brinson is a part time fire personnel member. |
| The lake’s water level has dropped about 7 feet and work will start next Tuesday (9th) - will keep check on water going through the leak. Fishing is very good right now, had 8 boats and 20 people fishing today, mostly from the bank. Asks that anglers let the Refuge know about stumps that could be removed while the lake is down. |
| The Youth Deer Hunt has been scaled down to 150 kids this year. The YDH workshop is November 2, with the youth hunt on the 3rd. The regular gun season starts the 4th. |
| There is a list at the Office for people to sign up for helping the Refuge with the hunts. |
New Business: |
Election of Board of Directors officers. George & Lori are stepping down as President and Secretary, Deanna is staying as Treasurer. Jim Leveille has been nominated for the President’s chair, Jean Herron has been nominated for the Secretary chair, and Bob Hudson has been nominated for the open Board of Directors position. The Board of Directors will meet after this meeting. Bob D made a motion the acclamation be accepted, Sara L seconded, all were in favor, motion passed. |
Dianne C will chair the YDH meal, which starts around 4:30pm. |
