The meeting convened at 6:00 P.M.
Minutes were read and accepted.

Treasurer's Report:

The WTF will be processing the YTH meal monies within the next 2 weeks.

BOCS is still working with the CPA on the 501(C) re-certification.

Old Business:

Still no reply from Congressman Hill’s office concerning getting the framed bridge print directly to Mr. Hill.

Gravel has been stockpiled at the outdoor classroom. Dave B will contact Bill H concerning spreading said gravel.

The October meeting is this year’s annual meeting. Jim L will create a letter for Lori to email to BOCS members, and request they RSVP so that an amount of pizza can be figured on.

Refuge Manager's report:

The going away party for Jason was great!

Dan is back from Missouri.

A new intern came aboard today.

The meal at the picnic starts at 5:00pm - all attending must go to the Refuge office to get a gate pass before going to the lake.

The lake’s water level is being dropped so that a leak can be repaired.

The Refuge tractor is broken down.

The Refuge is busy closing budgets.

The fire season starts the 15th.

Deer are dying from Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (Bluetongue). This disease is carried by a no-see-um type of fly (midge). Cold weather stops this viral disease.

Archery season starts October 13 - the Refuge needs help with these hunts, and is prepared to pay a small daily stipend to those helping.

New Business:

Another cook is needed for the upcoming annual fish-fry. Van drivers are needed. Dianne Carson will chair the fish-fry meal.

Robert Miller, from the Central Muscatatuck Watershed told us about a watershed project in the surrounding counties. He is here to obtain the community’s help with his work of gathering water data, etc. Hoosier Hills is sponsoring this project. There is a community meeting scheduled for October 4th at the Madison-Jefferson County Library.

Jason Lewis was gifted by BOCS with a framed bridge print.

Jim L. moved the meeting be adjourned, Dale C seconded, all were in favor, meeting adjourned 6:50 pm
