The Big Oaks Conservation Society, in cooperation with the Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge, hosts an annual event called “Outdoor Women at Big Oaks” (OWBO)

OWBO is a one-day event designed to offer women ages 14 and over the opportunity to gain valuable in-the-field skills and knowledge in an environment that encourages fun and success in the outdoors. This exciting program targets women of all ages who want to learn outdoor skills and outdoors appreciation through courses addressing such topics as fishing, hunting, canoeing, bird watching, archery, shooting, and much more! All activities begin and end at the beautiful and historic Old Timbers Lodge.
